Sermons of the Great Ejection
by Various
This volume gathers the parting words that Puritan ministers preached to their congregations in August 1662, on the eve of being driven from their pulpits by the Act of Uniformity. Barred from the Church of England for conscience' sake, roughly two thousand nonconformist pastors used these final sermons to comfort, warn, and exhort the flocks they were leaving behind, with contributions from Thomas Watson, Thomas Manton, Edmund Calamy, and others.
