A Sure Guide to Heaven
Originally titled An Alarm to the Unconverted, Alleine's classic is a searching, affectionate appeal to the unconverted to turn to Christ before it is too late. Written by a young minister imprisoned for his preaching, it defines the nature of true conversion, exposes false and half-hearted religion, and presses sinners with urgent directions to close with the Savior.
From the book
In Joseph Alleine's own words
“Never think you can convert yourself. If ever you would be savingly converted, you must despair of doing it in your own strength.”
“Here I will throw myself; if You slay me, I will not go from Your door.”
