Glorious Freedom by Richard Sibbes

Glorious Freedom

by Richard Sibbes

Richard Sibbes's exposition of 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, unfolding the liberty the gospel brings over the bondage of the law. He shows how Christ, 'that Spirit,' gives life to all Scripture and frees the believer, and how by beholding Christ's glory the soul is progressively changed into his image.

In Richard Sibbes's own words

The law is a dead letter; yea, and so is the gospel too without Christ. He is 'that Spirit' which gives life unto all the Scriptures.
Glorious Freedom (1639)
His fulness of the Spirit is as the fulness of the fountain; ours is but as the fulness of the cistern. He hath grace in the spring; we have it but in the conduit.
Glorious Freedom (1639)
What is the scope of the whole Scriptures but Christ?
