The Best Books on the Person and Work of Christ
Christology is the area of theology that studies who Jesus Christ is and what he has done. It confesses that the eternal Son of God took on a true human nature, so that one person exists in two natures, fully God and fully man, as defined at Chalcedon. It also examines his saving work as prophet, priest, and king, especially his atoning death, resurrection, and ongoing mediation.
Few subjects reward careful study like the person and work of Jesus Christ. The books below are drawn from the confessional Reformed and evangelical tradition and arranged in three tiers so you can start where you are. Whether you want a warm introduction or a rigorous academic treatment, these in-print titles will ground you in historic, Chalcedonian Christology.
